The round table "Russian-Swiss relations in historical retrospective"

At the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov at the Faculty of Global Processes (FGS) the round table discussion "Russian-Swiss relations in historical retrospective." was held.

Diplomatic relations between countries were established several centuries ago and have undergone many changes over the whole time.

The Dean of the Faculty of Global Processes I.V. Ilyin made a welcoming speech to the participants.

In that speech, he emphasized the importance of holding such events and drew attention to the need to strengthen ties between countries.

K.A. Borisova was elected as a moderator of the round table.

Prof.T.L. Shestova and doctor of historical sciences A.A. Saghomonyan also presented their reports.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the role of Switzerland in the history of Russia, the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, what the residents of the Russian Federation see as the “Homeland of the best wristwatches in the world” today.

Particular attention was paid to cultural, scientific and educational ties, the image of Switzerland, created in Russian literature and art.

At the end of the meeting, participants were invited to a reception at the Swiss Embassy.
